Oppo Find 7 and O-band Announced Officially!

The Chinese manufacturer, Oppo, just announced their new flagship, the Find 7. Btw, I was writing this article while watching the live stream which was entirely in Chinese so please forgive me if there are any errors.

Oppo Find 7 back

The Oppo Find 7 is available in two color options: Black and White.

Oppo Find 7 front

The Oppo Find 5 was the first device to bring a 1080P display to a smartphone and the Find 7 better that, bringing a 2560x1440 display resolution with a whooping 538 ppi.

Showcasing the 2K resolution in the event

Another sexy thing about this phone is that the notification LED is a whole strip at the bottom of the display and this looks slick in the dark.

Skyline Notification LED

The Find 7 features 3 hardware buttons just like it's predecessor.

It also has 4G LTE support.

This phone features a 13 MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization and 4K video recording at 30 FPS and 720p at 120 FPS which is very impressive.

4K video recording at 30 FPS

By taking 10 photos at the back end, the Find 7 can create 50 MP photos with a feature called Superzoom.

It is mentioned in the announcement that the Oppo Find 7 takes excellent pictures in low light.

The Find 7 has a new technology called MaxxAudio Mobile which looks similar to HTC's Boomsound.

Premium Bass technology

FINALLY, someone that speaks English is up on the stage.

The MaxxAudio technology brings excellent Bass to mobile phones and promises premium sound which is similar to the motto of Beats Audio.

MaxxEQ is an equalizer that is included out of the box.

They show a pretty cheesy video about battery life needs to be improved.

VOOC is a new battery technology that works at 4.5 V and aims at reducing power usage.

A 30 minute charge will get the Find 7 to 75% of battery thanks to the Rapid Charge technology.

The battery capacity of this phone is  3000mAH.

They are talking a lot about VOOC but I can't understand anything because it is all in Chinese.

The Find 7 has a custom Android build called ColorOS 1.2 although Oppo announced via their Google+ page that ColorOS 2 is coming up so I guess that will be included out of the box with the Find 7.

Looks like they have some tie up with the Bank of China for NFC payments.

Oppo announced a new wearable device called O-band which looks very similar to the Sony Smartband.

The O-band features a heart rate sensor and it is very thin.

Oppo is pricing the QHD Find 7 at 3,498 CNY, which roughly equals 565 USD, while the fullHD version carries a 2998 CNY price tag, or about 480 USD.

Oppo Find 7 to be released at MWC!

I highly recommend you read my previous article on the Oppo Find 7 here if you don't know what a great phone it could be!

Anyway, Oppo tweeted that it will be attending the MWC(Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona in February which is one of the biggest tech events worldwide.

Some anonymous sources claim that the Find 7 will start at 3,598 yuan, which is around $594 or €434 at the current exchange rates. That would be a great price for such a high-end device, but there’s a catch. Oppo might also sell a version of the Find 7 with a 5-inch 1080p Full HD touchscreen (and all other specs unchanged, we assume) and it’s this model that could get that low (compared to competitors) price. The 5.5-inch 2,560×1,440 panel will command its own premium, then.

But keep in mind that this is all nothing but an unverified rumor coming from unknown sources, and with forced reliance upon the not always stellar Google Translate for understanding what it all means. There may be errors. In fact, it would be surprising if there weren't any.

Apparently Oppo will unveil its next flagship smartphone during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. This will be around 14 months after the Find 5 was announced, which is not something ordinary in the mobile world in this day and age, where most manufacturers want to cut down time before high-end releases, not go the other way.

Edit: The Find 7 is now officially announced, read about it here.

Oppo Find 7 killer phone rumors!

With the dawn of 2013, the specifications of phones have really become 'stagnant'. Whenever a new phone is launched, the press goes wild about it. For about 1-2 weeks, you see that phone all over the internet. And then, it just vanishes into cyber oblivion.
Oppo has always been famous for pushing the limits of specifications.

Whenever we think "It cannot get better than this.",  Oppo comes out with a screamer. In 2012, it rocked the tech world with the world's first 1080P smartphone, the Find 5. Many YouTube reviewers loved the Find 5 including +Marques Brownlee and +Armando Ferreira ! :D

And in September of this 2013, just when we were again thinking it is all over, Oppo announced the N1 in partnership with +CyanogenMod. It is a 5.9" 1080P phone with Oppo's own themed Android ROM known as 'Color OS'. And as it is partnered with CM, it is guaranteed to receive the latest Android version! Not only this, the Oppo N1 has a small touch pad at the back of the device that can be used for gestures and quickly opening apps. It also sports a rotating 13 MP camera with dual LED flash. This means that your primary camera is your secondary camera as well!

The Oppo Find 7 is rumored to be sporting the latest and greatest processor of Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 805. The Snapdragon 805 supports up to 2.5 GHz frequency. Other specs of the Find 7 include 3 GB RAM, a 13 MP camera and whooping 5.5" 2K (2560 X 1440) resolution! This calculates to be 538 ppi, highest till date on any device! If these rumors are correct, the Oppo Find 7 will surely be the phone to beat in 2014 by any manufacturer!

Edit: The Oppo Find 7 is now officially announced, read about it here.

Let me know in the comments section if you think these rumors are true and what else you think about them! If you liked this article, please also read our other articles below and
